Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra, a highly rated and extremely functional Gen 4 robotic vacuum and mop is a well-built machine. The price of $1,400 is difficult to swallow, but you can find it for sale often enough to make it more appealing. The unit is stunning, and the base takes up little room in a corner.
This robot's design addresses a few problems that we've encountered with other robotic mop and vacuum units, like the brushes becoming entangled in hair, and the vacuum brush not being able to reach floors that are not covered by furniture. The sweeping capabilities are impressive on carpets and bare flooring. The vacuum/mop system is equipped with the highest amount of debris removal, and the mop can absorb the bare floor quickly.
The mops also use an advanced system for cleaning around the edges of furniture and around walls. The robot can handle the largest obstacles like food bowls, toys, shoes, and backpacks with any issue. But it can get stuck or become entangled with smaller and more compact objects such as shoelaces, USB cables, and pen.
We utilized this robot to vacuum and mop a mixture of pile carpet tiles, FLOR carpet, and hardwood floors within a large, open house floor plan. It cleaned and mopped the 90m2 space in 170 minutes using FREO Mind enabled. This is a bit more than the average for Gen 4 robots.

The app is able to detect soiled spots and create an effective cleaning route. It can also dispense detergent, or raise the carpet pads.
Other notable features include a quick charging battery, a simple-to-read display on the robot's underside and a handy dock door that opens easily. The Freo X Ultra vacuum and mop is a great choice for apartment and home owners who want to simplify their chores and keep their homes clean.

Miele has a reputation of quality and innovation in the field of robot vacuuming. The new Miele robot is designed to elevate the cleaning performance to a new level, thanks to its innovative features.
The RX3 has dual suction technology, intelligent navigation with 3D mapping, and a camera that transmits a live image to your smartphone for effortless control. The RX3's four-stage system is excellent for dust collection on hard and carpet floors. Side brushes that can be swung out with dual suction channels, and easy-to-use controls keep corners clean. Its 8.5 cm height lets it reach under furniture with low levels. Front cameras and an infrared sensor help it navigate obstacles, thresholds, and obstacles with ease.
The Scout RX3 impressed us in our test on how well it cleaned baking powder from corners and baseboards. Its suction of 2,500 Pa was a little weaker than other robots but it moved quickly and was extremely quiet. It didn't mop however and its cleaning pads were difficult to attach and couldn't cope with dirt that had dried on.
Its app isn't equipped with advanced features, such as multiple cleaning modes or automated scheduling. It does work with Alexa however its voice controls aren't particularly precise or responsive. It's also a bit flaky when it comes back to the charging station after the course. Other robots can follow a wall or trace the previous route however, the RX3 stumbles around until it gives up.
Another issue we faced was with its intelligent features, particularly the mapping function and the digital keep-out zones. It was good at keeping our shoes and furniture legs away however it could easily get hanging up on cables, socks and carpets. We didn't include the Scout RX3 on our Best Buy list. The Scout RX3 offers a good price and impressive performance. It's worth a look as an alternative to uprights that are traditionally used.
